Shepherd – A Shared Love of Books
For many years, I’ve used Goodreads to keep track of the books I read. I admit it, I’m a junkie for the Reading Challenge. But over the past couple of years, I’ve found myself growing cynical about their support of authors. It tends to be… non-existent. During that time, I discovered Shepherd, founded by a guy who also felt that Goodreads wasn’t doing enough for authors. I love what he’s building. So much so that I’ve thrown myself into helping the site grow and mature into what’s quickly becoming an amazing place to discover new books. From the “Our Story” page, “I want to make it easier for authors to meet the readers who are most likely to be interested in their books. And I want to do this through a shared love of books and reading.”
Right now, Shepherd is encouraging everyone including you to contribute their three favorite reads in 2024 – I’ve submitted my favorites. I also created a list of the best books to inspire adventurous and courageous girls.
I loved making that list and soon you’ll see another from me: the best books written by teenage authors. Go take a relaxing wander around Shepherd. Nearly everything is a clickable link, so poke whatever looks interesting. Honestly, it’s one big rabbit hole full of book bunnies and author chatter. Get a hot cup of tea, dive in, and see where your travels take you. If you find your next read along the way I’d love to know what it is.
