Book Review: Designer Dirty Laundry
Designer Dirty Laundry by Diane Vallere
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I needed a change from heavier fantasy and sci-fi novels, and Designer Dirty Laundry by Diane Vallere (aka DiVa) was just the thing. The story is sassy, breezy, a little silly, but with high stakes and a solid mystery to solve.
Samantha Kidd’s first day on the job (if indeed she HAS a job) isn’t anything like she expected it to be. Things go wrong at work immediately when she finds her new boss dead in the elevator, and nobody else in the company seems to know he’d even hired her.
She really needs to solve this murder. Her new job is on the line, she may lose her home if she can’t get her life straightened out, but even more dire, she’s a prime suspect! Nothing about the situation is easy for Samantha, but she does the best she can, and never gives up.
This was a quick read, since it held my interest start to finish. I really needed to see how this seemingly hopeless situation could be resolved.
Bonus fun: Samantha’s mortgage company with its incessant phone calls that provide a running joke through the entire story.
