Book Review: Hard Times

Hard TimesHard Times by Charles Dickens
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Finishing this book is a great example of “Hard Times”. I started it just before Halloween, 2021, and just finished it last night. Sadly, in spite of universal themes that anyone should be able to find meaning in, it all fell down flat for me. I enjoyed the first dozen or so chapters, and then it was straight downhill. After a while, I was reading a chapter a night purely out of a sense of Duty to Dickens. The only pleasurable takeaway is the lightness I feel having this burden off my shoulders.
