Seattle Stories: The Salmon and the Turtle

Who remembers when there was an apartment at the top of the Space Needle? I don’t, but for a while I dated the artist who created some beautiful Northwest Indian art on the hardwood sliding panels in that apartment. In about 1975 he gifted me with those panels. They graced my various apartment walls for years to come. I wish I still had them, but alas. Time and travels took their toll.

There! On the wall! It’s a salmon!
And there! Behind my brother! It’s a turtle!

Lori Alden Holuta lives between the cornfields of Mid-Michigan, where she grows vegetables and herbs when she’s not writing, editing, or playing games with a cat named Chives.
