Aplets and Cotlets and Farewell, Oh My

Iconic candies created in Washington State: Almond Roca, Frangos, and Aplets & Cotlets.

And I love them all. when I was much younger, my mom got me hooked on Aplets & Cotlets, a lovely fruit treat similar to Turkish Delight, made in Wenatchee, Washington. I haven’t had one in ages… and today I heard that the company is going out of business after 101 years! I’m going to order a box or two and savor them, as I wish the company farewell. If you want to try them too, you can order them through their website at Liberty Orchards. Orders will be accepted through June 1st. It’s hard for me to imagine a world without Aplets & Cotlets. Thank you for being our Christmas tradition for many years! You will be dearly missed.
